Students of Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) Jammu have shot off a letter to the Vice Chancellor of University of Jammu asking for early exams through online mode (Google form) or mass promotion.

Students who have got supplementary in 1st and 3rd semester have also demanded online exam for them.

Letter, a copy of which is available with JK Newsline, states “we the students of Jammu university under Engineering department of 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th semesters respectively, kindly want to bring  this to your notice that we have been into the same semesters since last 8 months and as  we all know that one semester lasts not more than 6 months. Due to delaying in exams all the students will face abundant of problems in their academic careers”.

“To be honest, we don’t believe that it would be safe for us to appear for the exams in college i.e. offline mode because that will only give rise to a covid outbreak” the letter states.

The students of GCET have requested the VC of JU that the safest options for them is either administration take their exams (supplies + regular) through online mode or give mass promotion to each student.
