National Conference (NC) Chief and former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah taking a cue from farmers protest in New Delhi has asked the people of Kashmir to make “sacrifices” for restoration of statehood of J&K.

Abdullah was addressing a convention of youth wing of the party on 116th birth anniversary of party founder and his father Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was forced to withdraw three farm laws on November 19 after sustained demonstrations by the farmers.

“It was a protest of one year in which more than 700 farmers died. We may also need to make such sacrificed to get back our rights” said Abdullah.
