In a major embarrassment to the government, cracks have developed on newly built Banihal-Qazigund tunnel forcing the Jammu bound traffic to divert as a precautionary measure.
However traffic was plying as usual on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
The management company engaged by NHAI later pressed its men and machinery to repair the damaged portion of the road.
