Due to consistent surge in Covid patient load, the plan of constructing 500 bedded temporary Covid Hospital in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), GMC, Jammu had advertised 313 new posts.
The eligibility criteria for the post of Medical officers earlier was MBBS, ISM and BDS but now ISM and BDS have been excluded by GMC jammu and Srinagar.
The notice of walk-in-interview which is lined up for May 24 issued by the GMC, Jammu notified that 35 posts of Medical Officers are going to be filled under Level-9 Pay Scale but setting MBBS as eligibility criteria, excluding others. GMC Srinagar has also done the same.
According to sources, an aspirant said that it is very unfortunate that post creation for dental surgeon was made eligible earlier but removed later. Principal GMC, Jammu Dr Shashi Sudhan said that the Government has directed them to carry out the recruitment in a step wise manner and based on the response to the advertisement. “We have been told to start with MBBS,” she said.
