Government employee suspended for fake job card attendance

Doda :- The government of Jammu & Kashmir has taken disciplinary action against Bashir Ahmed, a Gram Rozgar Sevak (GRS) in Panchayat Bathri, Block Kahara, for marking fake attendance of MGNREGA job card holders. An investigation found that the GRS had captured and uploaded photographs of the same individuals on different muster rolls to falsify attendance records.

The Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) of Doda district ordered the immediate suspension of the GRS, citing violations of MGNREGA guidelines that undermine program transparency and accountability. This malpractice undermines the objectives of the rural employment scheme and deprives legitimate beneficiaries of their entitlements.

The suspension is a stern warning against such fraudulent practices and reinforces the government’s commitment to ensuring the effective implementation of welfare programs. Moving forward, the administration will strengthen monitoring mechanisms to prevent similar instances of misreporting and safeguard the interests of MGNREGA workers.
