J&K officers showing negligence towards tenders for projects to face action

Chief Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Mehta recently held talks with all the Administrative Secretaries on various matters regarding the tendering of works and projects and making of payments for the completed ones.

Since there has been increase in the projects which have failed to take off due to unsuccessful tender because of some unrealistic specifications, government took a step to take a strict action for officers in future whosoever shows negligence towards it.

It was noticed in a detailed discussions held in a meeting that several projects were unsuccessful because the specifications framed in the bids were not clearly mentioned.

As per sources,the Chief Secretary has clearly given instructions that the tenders have to be framed with due diligence and no unrealistic specifications should be made part of the tender.

Also, the Chief Secretary has impressed upon the Administrative Departments to monitor the payment of bills against projects which have been completed.

All the departments have been informed that any violation of these instructions will be construed as irregularity and action as warranted under Rules shall be initiated.
