The Jammu and Kashmir Police have discovered “Kuwait links” in terror cases that took place in Jammu.

Just a couple of hours before European Union delegates arrived in Kashmir on February 17, sources said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a man at Jammu airport as he returned from Kuwait via Mumbai. As soon as he deboarded, the Poonch police arrested him from runway.

Sources said that the accused had been working in Kuwait for the last more than two years and was in touch with the infamous Pakistani spy agency Inter-Service intelligence, which had allegedly paid him for doing anti-national activities in the border districts, Poonch and Rajouri in particular.

Sources said that while he was in the Middle East, he had been setting up a network to provide logistics to terrorists including the supply of arms and ammunition. He is the man behind many anti-national activities including infiltration and smuggling of arms and drugs. Sources said after his interrogation, the police have initiated many raids to arrest more suspects in the case.

Sources said that terrorists were plotting their operations from Kuwait to carry out attacks in Jammu districts especially outside religious places. This shocking development has taken place when Jammu is already on an alert after inputs that Pakistan sponsored terror groups are planning to carry out explosion attacks in the region.

A terrorist commander was recently arrested from a vehicle in Jammu. Just a couple of days after that incident, a Kashmiri youth was arrested with seven KGs of explosive from the outskirts of Jammu. The alertness of police and other security forces have managed to avoid any such terror attacks till now, sources said that the security establishment is ready to tackle such anti-national forces.

A senior official said that abrogation of Article 370 and statehood of J&K has frustrated Pakistan and thus, it is trying to cause unrest in the region. It is looking for agents who can do the job even in far-places like Kuwait.
