In order to empower girls for the self protection in any adverse situation, a one month long self-defence training programme called Mission Shakti for girl students in Udhampur district has been initiated by the Jammu and Kashmir police.
Physical Education teacher from the Girls Higher Secondary School, Udhampur said that a self training programme is needed as parents of girls won’t be there with them every time , thus this training will help them tackle any problem if occurs.
At present, 45 students from different schools and colleges are attending the training. Also, participation of girls who come from remote or far-flung areas of district Udhampur is there.
The students present at the training are happy that from now on they will be able to protect themselves if any problem arises.
