JKSSB scam: Top officials involved in exchanging OMR sheets?

The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) during its investigations revealed that OMR sheets had also been replaced in exchange for money, while question papers for Panchayat Assistants had also been leaked.

A deal worth Rs 4 crore was also made between paper leakers from Haryana and scammers based in Jammu for the upcoming examination of Foresters.

As per Excelsior, three senior-ranking SSB officers were involved in changing OMR sheets during the tests. 28 OMR sheets have been replaced, reportedly and further sheets are being examined to know how deep-rooted the sheet replacing scam was.

Because of signature mis-match it came to light that sheets have been changed. The signature of invigilators in exam centre was not same as was available on OMR sheets with SSB. This indicates that OMR sheets signed by the Invigilators after completion of the paper at the examination centre were replaced and someone else signed for the Invigilators, reportedly.

As per reports, investigators will call one sitting Member and two then officials, who were shunted out of the SSB after papers leak scam, as their involvement has come up in changing OMR sheets. Government teacher, two police constables and one former CRPF jawan have so far been arrested by the CBI in relation with the scam.

It is pertinent to mention that, not only Sub Inspectors in Jammu and Kashmir Police, Financial Accounts Assistants and JE Civil were leaked by the scamsters (which have since been cancelled by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha), but in the past the question paper of Panchayat Assistants was also leaked.

It is worth mentioning that leakage of question paper of Sub Inspectors in Jammu and Kashmir Police was detected first followed by FAAs and JE Civil. All these three exams were cancelled by the Government and will be held now in October.
