Kashmiri Pandit employees served notice for unauthorized absence, order withdrawn later

The authorities in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district have sought an explanation from 26 Kashmiri Pandit employees working in the Social Welfare Department after they were found unauthorizedly absent from their duties.

An explanation notice was issued to them but however later the order was withdrawn.

The explanation that has been issued stated that these employees have been found unauthorizedly absent from their legitimate duties while as the District Social Welfare Office (DSWO) tried to contact them telephonically and by other means but received no answer.

It has come to fore that after the civilian killings in Kashmir, Kashmiri Pandit employees were absent from their duties.

The employees who have been found absent are posted at DSWO Anantnag, TSWO Anantnag, MFI Bon Dialgam, Camp Office Kokernag, TSWO Bijbehara, TSWO Dooru, TSWI Shangus and TSWO Pahalgam.

The DSWO said that due to the unauthorized absence of employees from work has made the office work suffer at the district as well as subordinate offices.

The employees have been given two days time to explain their position failing which action as warranted under rules shall be initiated against them
