An official spokesperson announced that as the government has opened helicopter services for visitors, the first batch of tourists have made bookings.

According to a directive from Ladakh’s civil aviation department, the public will have access to the helicopter services provided by the UT administration in Ladakh at the sectors and prices that were previously announced by the administration for Ladakh residents.

Anyone interested in making a reservation on any of the announced routes can do so online at https://heliservice.ladakh.gov.in/.

For the category of travellers other than Ladakh residents, a separate booking system has been made available on the portal.

The order went on to specify that the amount of passengers, the weather, or any other operational limitations would determine the availability of a ticket for a certain route.

A larger Mi-172 and a five-seater B-3 helicopter will be utilised by the administration to make available the services.

According to the spokesperson, the services would initially be available in Leh, Kargil, Padum, Lingshed, Dibling, Neyrak, Diskit, Turtuk, Srinagar, and Jammu.
