Maulana Saad of Tablighi Jamaat tests negative for Covid-19

Maulana Saad who is the chief of controversial Tablighi Jamaat has tested negative for Coronavirus as per one of his aides.

In some reports, a person who requested not to be named has said that the result of Maulana Saad was received on Sunday in which he has tested negative for Coronavirus.

Tablighi Jamaat had come under the attack from different quarters after many of its followers tested positive for Covid-19 after jam packed event that was held in March this year when advisories were already issued to avoid congregations.

The report of Maulana Saad will be submitted with the police on Monday. According the report the crime branch of Delhi police had asked the associates of Maulana Saad to submit his reports with them so that it could be ascertained if he was actually Covid-19 negative or not.

Saad has so far remained in hiding and was not appearing before the police. As per a report his associates told media that they were cooperating with the police in all possible ways. “Police has instructed us to follow certain directions step by step and we have agreed to all their directions” said an associate.

Police have booked Maulana Saad under Epidemic Act and other sectiosn including Culpable Homicide not amounting to murder. Saad at present is in quarantine at the home of a relative in Delhi.

The police were so far following wait and watch policy over the issue that had snowballed into a major controversy. Report to Home Ministry over the issue has also been submitted by the Delhi police in which it has been mentioned as to how such a large congregation took place despite the fact that there were orders regarding such events in wake of Coronavirus outbreak in the country. Maulana Saad had gone in hiding since the issue became the headlines in media.
