Final year Post-graduate medical and dental residents from throughout the country have requested the Prime Minister to waive their final year exams. They said that they have worked selflessly during the pandemic to serve the public. There was no time to study as the duties were assigned to PG doctors for 24-36 hours continuously.

The services of final year medical and dental PGs were utilised by Govt. during Covid-19 crises this year. “We were unable to study due to tight schedule of our duties. We have worked day and night to serve the ailing without thinking about our exam preparation. Now we are not at all prepared for our exams and we all PG students request PM to kindly take a humanitarian decision by cancelling our final exams scheduled in July “ said a student of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Punjab.

“While fighting this pandemic we have lost our near and dears, even then we were giving our duties in hospital. It would be  cruel if we were made to sit in exams as we had no time to prepare for the exams. Central Government can cancel our exams as one time exception” said a student of Govt. Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University Of Health Sciences, PGI Rohtak, Haryana.

Even the final year Post-graduate medical and dental residents from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Union Territory of J&K have appealed the Union Govt to cancel their examinations. They said that various important exams in the country have been cancelled this year citing pandemic, then why not to cancel doctor’s PG examinations when they have a genuine issue.
