Deputy Commissioner, Anshul Garg has said that Covid containment has shown visible improvement in Jammu district with recovery rate touching 90 % and positivity rate declining to less than 5%.
This Deputy Commissioner was briefing the media about the current Covid situation in Jammu District, here at a press conference.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that as recovery rate is better than rate of active cases, the bed occupancy has been reduced to 200 patients in GMC.
“Equivalent testing in rural and urban areas has been given emphasis as 70 dedicated teams have been designated for testing in rural areas” he added.
Anshul Garg further informed that a total 4.9 lakh persons have been inoculated , including 3.65 lakhs of 45+ age group and 55 thousand that of 18-44 age group. He also informed that 35 vaccination sites including 5 sites for covaxin and 30 sites for covishield have been created to intensify vaccination.
