Rivals become friends at LoC in Kashmir, at least for a moment

India and Pakistan’s rivalry is known by the world as it is going on for past several decades over different issues.

However on new year, both armies exchanged sweets at Chilehana – Tithwal Crossing Point at Line of Control in Kashmir.

“India has continuously endeavored to sweeten and strengthen the bilateral relations with Pakistan through goodwill gestures like this one across the spectrum to ensure peace and tranquility in the region” an army spokesperson said.

“Post the ceasefire agreement in February last year, there has been a prolonged peace along the LoC. The people have appreciated efforts of the Indian Army to maintain peace in the villages along Line of Control. This gesture is one of the many such efforts made towards achieving peace and development in J&K. These positive endeavors by the Indian Army will further the cause towards prolonged peace along the Line of Control” the spokesperson said.
