Road at 18600 feet that will reduce travel by 41 Km to Pangong Lake inaugurated

A strategically important road connecting Zingral to Tharuk, Tangtse via Kela at the altitude of 18600 feet constructed by 58 Engineer Regiment of Indian Army was inaugurated by Member Parliament from Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal.


The road will reduce 41 Km travel from Leh (Zingral to Tangtse) to reach Pangong Lake crossing Kela Pass of 18600 feet height connecting Lchagri Gyamtso Lake and Tharuk Village.

This road will also play major roles in coming future to boost socio-economic status of the local residents of the people of Lalok Region of Ladakh as it will invite tourists for many reasons like Highest Tourist Motorable Road, Medicinal Plants like Sanjoeevni, Snow Sport Activities, Nomadic Livestock, Lake and other attractions. 

During the inaugural function held at Kela Top at the altitude of 18600 ft Namgyal applauded the dedications of Indian Army especially 58 Engineer Regiment for connecting this road within two months and also highlights the seriousness of the Govt of India towards creation of Border Infrastructures especially roads & bridges.
