The weather department has predicted that scattered rainfall will take place in Jammu and Kashmir on February 22. In the last few days, the minimum temperature has fallen in most places in Kashmir while the day temperature has been a bit more than usual.
The meteorological department official said that the weather is largely predicted to remain dry in the plains of Jammu and Kashmir this week. However, there are chances that scattered rainfall will take place on February 22. The department said that Srinagar has witnessed minus 0.9 degrees Celsius last night, which is slightly down than minus 0.3 degrees Celsius of the night before.
Officials said that the city recorded a maximum temperature of 16.6 degrees Celsius which is 6.7 points above normal. Qazigund witnessed a minimum temperature of minus 2.5 degrees Celsius which is slightly more than the previous night’s minus 2.8 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Qazigund was 16.1 degrees Celsius which is 6.7 points above normal.
Pahalgam in south Kashmir which is a tourist attraction too recorded a minimum temperature of minus 4.2 degrees Celsius. Mercury during daytime settled at 13.2 degrees Celsius which is 6.7 notches above normal. In north Kashmir’s Kupwara, the minimum temperature was minus 2.8 degrees Celsius, while it was minus 0.6 degrees Celsius in Kokernag in the south.
Officials said that Kupwara witnessed the day temperature of 19.3 degrees Celsius which is 10.6 points above normal. Kokernag saw a high of 13.9 degrees Celsius which is 6 points above normal. The famous ski resort of Gulmarg witnessed the minimum temperature of minus 4 degrees Celsius last night which is a point down from the previous night.
In Gulmarg, maximum temperature was 7 degrees Celsius which is 6.2 notches above normal.
