The 72 year old Padma Bhushan Awardee has been admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi after her condition became critical. Her son Anshuman Sinha is at the hospital with his mother.

Sharda Sinha is suffering from myeloma cancer. She was diagnosed seven years ago after which she was under continuous treatment due to the disease’s affect on the bone marrow.

Sharda was born in Bihar in 1952 and is known for her songs specifically in Bhojpuri language. Her songs on Chhat puja are popular in Bihar region and are appreciated by people there.

Sharda came to the limelight from her son in a superhit Bollywood movie Hum Apke Hain Kaun. She sang ‘Babul Jo Tum Ne Sikhaya’. The song was appreciated by people across the country.

Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra movie was released in theatres on October 11 (Friday) and is expected to gain momentum in coming days.  While the full fledged reviews are still not out, many social media users heaped praises on acting of Alia Bhatt in Jigra movie and said that her acting was extremely wonderful.

However a close analysis of these reviews especially on X (formerly Twitter) exposed that these might be a handiwork of PR companies who hire such people to write positive reviews. The PR companies are paid by the movie producers to write good things so that it gets attention on social media.

A review on X stated, “This one is brutally emotional and hits hard! #AliaBhatt is nothing short of flawless—she delivers a gut-wrenching performance that pulls you into her world from the very first scene. The film takes you on an intense emotional rollercoaster, with a story that grips your heart and refuses to let go. Alia Bhatt’s portrayal is raw and powerful—her character’s journey is full of pain, strength, and resilience. The direction is sharp, and the cinematography beautifully captures the emotional depth of every scene”.

Absence of audience in theatres tell a different story though as Rs 18.10 crore for day four is one of the worst performances of a movie which is expected to do well on box office.

“Style, class and substance—#Jigra got all three. If you are looking for a quality cinema falling into the art and science of cinema and away from commerce, then Jigra seems to be the BEST THING YOU’LL SEE IN 2024” another review stated.

However there were some real reviews which we were able to get. “Jigra is TIRESOME. Alia Bhatt performs well but that’s not enough. Film is dragged and the entire film revolves around jailbreaking and not the main conflict. The basic issue is that the film isn’t entertaining. Another victim of poor writing. Jigra Review: The film starts off with a very rushed pace and then starts lagging. Alia & Vedang are generous and the emotions between their characters work really well. It’s a film where you know the ending, so the execution needs to be flawless but unfortunately it’s a huge miss here”

Indian film industry has greatly influenced the society since independence and popularized our culture and tradition worldwide.  It is also acting as an agent of social change and providing livelihood opportunities to a large section associated with the sector, he said.

At the award ceremony, the Lt Governor discussed the bond Jammu Kashmir shared with the world of cinema and highlighted the efforts of the administration to create a vibrant film ecosystem in the UT.

We have taken several steps including a new film policy, operationalization of Cinema Halls in various districts after three decades to revive the golden days of J&K’s movie culture, he said.

He assured all the necessary support and assistance from the administration to the organizations like Vomedh in their endeavours to popularize the film festivals and other such activities in the UT of J&K

Remembering the significant contribution of Dev Anand to the film industry, the Lt Governor said the impeccable style and art of the celebrated actor and film maker gave a new meaning and respectability to the Bollywood.

In the second edition of The International Film Festival of Srinagar, 30 feature films, short films, documentaries from 17 countries were included for cinema-lovers.

This unfortunate incident occurred on June 11, 2011, in Hiranandani, Powai, where witnesses observed unidentified assailants taking Dey’s life.

As the investigation progressed, it was revealed that the murderers had connections to the infamous underworld gangster Chhota Rajan and his group of seven individuals. Eventually, both Rajan and Vora were charged by the Mumbai police, who later transferred the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in 2016.

In relation to the ongoing investigation, Vora was detained by the Mumbai police on November 25, 2011. At the time, she held the position of deputy bureau chief at the Mumbai Bureau of Asian Age and was 37 years old. The charges against her included allegations of providing Rajan with vital information about Dey, such as his address and the license plate number of his bike.

In February 2012, the Mumbai police filed a charge sheet against Vora, invoking the strict provisions of the Maharashtra Control Of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) and several other criminal offenses. Reports indicated that investigators had collected “circumstantial evidence” against Vora, including records of three phone calls she allegedly made to the gangster. Vora, however, clarified that these calls were solely intended to arrange an interview with Rajan.

Rajan claimed that Vora had incited him to carry out the murder due to their supposed “professional rivalry.” Sachin Kalbag, the executive editor of Mid-Day at the time, dismissed Rajan’s allegation, stating that Vora held a junior position compared to Dey and, therefore, couldn’t be considered a rival.

On July 27, 2012, Vora was granted bail and released from custody. The decision was reportedly influenced by the fact that she was a single parent with a young child who needed her care, as reported by the Press Trust of India. Vora later shared her experiences in prison, court hearings, and her years as a crime reporter in her book titled “Behind The Bars In Byculla: My Days in Prison,” published in September 2019.

Since her release from prison, Jigna Vora has embarked on a significant shift in her life’s trajectory. Throughout her time in prison, Vora consistently maintained her innocence regarding any involvement in the murder case.

In her book, “Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison,” Vora refutes all the allegations leveled against her and challenges the claims made about her relationship with Chhota Rajan.

Where is Jigna Vora Now? Currently, reports suggest that Vora is involved in providing advice and assistance to individuals through the use of Tarot cards and astrology. Additionally, she is said to be working on various projects related to her psychic abilities, including web series and films.

Across the Spider-Verse’s success has given a massive lift to the box office, giving joy to many people in the industry. The film has gone out to break multiple records including the record for the biggest opening weekend for an animated film in India and trends are working as strong as any other superhero film.

The film has grossed double the lifetime collections of the prequel  ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ in the opening weekend itself.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse grossed an estimated  $120.5 million over the weekend in the US, making it the second-biggest opening of 2023.

Chandra Shekhar Dutta who played the role of a preacher in the movie asking the hardliners to convert gullible women is basically from Jharkhand.

He graduated in acting from FTII, Pune. From a very humble background he got into Art qualifying competitions around with a best actor from FTII Jaya Bachchan scholarship.

He has been active in Mumbai since 2008 with a debutant film error 404. He worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ram Gopal Verma, Santosh Sivan and Shyam Benegal. OTTs like Laakhonmein ek season 2 as village lead Gandharva on Amazon Prime, Nakaab as Vinod Amre (Esha Gupta’s husband) on mx player among other roles.

Dutta says that he believes in extreme transformation. “I gained 15 kg weight for Khakee- the Bihar Chapter and continued shooting for other roles which needed a shredded body” he says.

“Transformation means complete personality change. I don’t believe in behavioral approaches but situational impromptu and spiritual artistic part of acting with changes in traits” Dutta stresses.

The actor believes that techniques and craft make you grow longer and become a lifetime learner. “Your senses will never be coloured. It helps you to maintain both exciting days as well as vulnerable days” he says.

“The role had different faces which appeared floating through social media, a combo image of the preachers and conversion gurus. I am grateful to Sudipto Sen who can imagine me, producer Ashin andcVipul Amrulal Shah who tested me and felt it can make hallucinations if projected rightly and Mukesh Chhabra team who brought a new breath in my life getting me various roles which needs efficiency and potential away from what I am” he said.

Dutta is currently busy shooting for a franchise series for children. A big banner project as primary, an awaited release Mujib the Making of a Nation.

 The news of girl child of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor was cheered by the fans of the couple on social media and many people were reported to make a beeline outside the hospital where the child is born in Mumbai.

Alia gave birth to her and Ranbir’s first child at HN Reliance hospital in South Mumbai. A close family friend told media that the girl child was born at around 7.30 am. Alia and Ranbir used to visit the hospital for the past few days as the delivery was expected anytime now.

The Kapoor family is expected to issue a formal statement soon.

In October, Alia and Ranbir hosted a grand baby shower at their residence in Mumbai.  

Ranbir and Alia shared screen space for the first time in “Brahmastra Part One: Shiva”, which was released worldwide in September.

Alia will be next seen in Karan Johar’s directorial venture “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Ranbir’s upcoming projects include Luv Ranjan’s untitled movie and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Animal”.
