Sopore resident cycles from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 27 days

Manan Hassan Wani, a young cyclist from North Kashmir’s Sopore town has set an example for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. He has travelled from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari (K2K) by a bicycle in just 27 days. In his bicycle journey, he also spread the message on drug addiction.

Manan Wani started his bicycle journey from 1 January and reached Kanya Kumari on the evening of 27th January. This was a 4,000 km travel journey which he covered in 27 days. His travel also included a 4-day rest.

He said that his journey was an 11 stage travel which started from Jammu and Kashmir and then included milestones in Punjab, Haryana, New Delhi, UP, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka, Andra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh. Through his journey, he wants to send a message to the youth that if one is dedicated enough then they can achieve their dreams.

He said that everyone should give every possible effort into whatever they are doing. It was his dreams to travel from Kashmir to Kanyakumari by a bicycle and he is extremely happy on achieving this goal. He said that he could achieve his dream only because of the help offered by his coach and his brother who planned the route and arranged everything in the route.

Also, he wants to send a message through his journey that youth should stay away from drugs and rather focus on their dreams.

The areas which Manan crossed in his journey from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari include Sopore, Qazigund, Jammu, Pathankot, Ramban, Ludhiana, Kurukshetra, New Delhi, Nirmal, Mathura, Agra, Gwalior, Jhansi, Sagar, Lakhnadon, Anantpur, Nagpur, Pandharkawada, Bhiknoor, Hyderabad, Kurnool, Bengaluru, Salem, Madurai and Kanyakumari.
