Deputy Registrar of Jammu University surpass Registrar’s order, later back-pedals

In what could be termed as surprising, a Deputy Registrar of University of Jammu defied the orders of Registrar of the varsity by asking some staff members of Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) to attend the office from June 2, only to back-pedal on the order later.

The copy of both orders is in possession of JK Newsline where it can be clearly seen that Deputy Registrar Dr Saranpreet Broca ordered that non-teaching and class 4th employees to attend the office from June 2.

However she soon rescinded and issued a new order which stated that the duty of the said staff members will be regulated in accordance with an earlier order issued by Registrar dated May 31, 2021. The order by Registrar was issued after the UT administration issued new guidelines to contain Covid-19 stating that all education institutions will remain closed till June 15 in J&K.
