During the past one month, 5 people in Jammu and Kashmir have died due to black fungus or mucormycosis.
All the deaths have been reported from Jammu division where the cases were found.
Administration of J&K had declared black fungus as epidemic on May 24 when the cases started to emerge in the UT.
In the past three weeks, 19 cases of Black Fungus have been identified. Of the deaths attributed to it, two have taken place in district Jammu, two in Kathua and one in Poonch.
