Jammu and Kashmir Police in its public outreach program has launched dedicated 24×7 public toll free numbers at PCR Jammu and PCR Kashmir-Srinagar for the public to share timely information regarding terrorism, narcotic-drug peddling, or any other anti-national/social activity.
As per an official statement by police, the credentials of the person sharing information with the police shall be kept secret and even rewarded depending on quality of information.
The number of PCR Kashmir landline is 0194 2455798 whereas the toll free number is 18001807193. The landline numbers for PCR Jammu is 01912520309 whereas toll free number is 18001807192.
“This is addition to the already existing helpline system of 100, 112, 1090, 1091 and others.
The phone numbers by police are being seen in response to killings of minorities by Pakistan backed terrorists in Kashmir in recent days. There have been reports that the terrorists might be trying to disrupt the peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
“This is in an effort to increase the sense of security among the businessmen, tourists, transporters, students and other sections of the society” the police statement read.
