In attempt to boost the medical care facilities and strengthen the health services, Jammu and Kashmir government is developing three Medical Cities in Kashmir. For these three Medical Cities locations have been identified and government has finalized the allotment of land in Kashmir.
J&K has witnessed major investments in past several months which will boost the health infrastructure and expectations for 5000 new hospital beds and 1000 MBBS additional seats are being made. Many companies are ready to invest huge amount of money for hospital, medical colleges and paramedical colleges in Kashmir.
As per reports, land has been acquired for transferring to these investors at three places in Kashmir – Sempora Pulwama, Lelhar Pulwama and Bemina Srinagar. These three locations have been named Med Cities.
Director Industries and Commerce Kashmir, Mehmood Ahmed Shah told Greater Kashmir that the land and investment details have been issued by the department and added that different projects have been approved and the companies have been given 60 days to deposit the money for the land.
He further added that three types of units have applied for allotment of land in Kashmir’s Med Cities – hospitals, hospital and medical colleges, nursing colleges and orthopedic centers.
Med Cities will help to gain investment in healthcare infrastructure and improve healthcare delivery as per government as well as generate employment opportunities.
