6 ITBP Jawans dead as bus carrying them meets with accident in Pahalgam

Six Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Jawans were killed while nearly 34 suffered injuries when the bus they were travelling in met with an accident in Pahalgam.

In Pahalgam area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, at least four personnel of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) were killed while 34 others were injured after a bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled down to a gorge on Tuesday.

As per reports, bus carrying ITBP troopers, who were on Yatra duty, met with an accident near Chandanwari area of Pahalgam, when driver lost control over it and the vehicle fell into gorge.

A rescue operation has been launched to remove the injured personnel to hospital, reportedly. SDPO Pahalgam Fahad Tak said that three to four personnel died on the spot and 37 others were injured. He said that the injured have been evacuated to hospital.
