District Police Samba on Saturday foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 8 bovines in two separate operations in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal.
Acting on an information received from reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a Police party of PS Ghagwal at Naka Tapyal, signalled intercepted a Mahindra vehicle without registration no, Chassis No ZN2GHKF1J69229 for checking. “Instead of stopping the vehicle, the driver accelerated the vehicle but got successfully chased by alert cops within a few metres away from Naka Point ”.
After checking the vehicle, 05 bovine were found laden inside the said vehicle which were tied in an cruel manner. In this connection, a case FIR No. 48/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act was registered in Police Station Ghagwal.
Similarly, a Police party of PS Ghagwal rescued 03 more bovines at Main Chowk, Ghagwal which were being transported illegally in a Scorpio vehicle bearing Regd. No. PB12F/8638 In this regard, a case FIR No. 49/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
