Delay in recruitment process of 200 Foresters posts since several years

There has been no progress at all on the vacant posts of foresters that were advertised many years back due to the lackadaisical approach of the concerned authorities.

The procedure for recruitment is undergoing delay since 2018.

Around 200 posts were invited for filling by Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB). The recruitment was stayed by court in 2018 but later cleared by the court, even though the process of recruitment has not been initiated yet.

There is alredy a condition where unemployment has reached to a very high level, there are government posts that are already sanctioned but are not being filled. Due to no progress in this recruitment procedure several aspirants have been facing various issues as well as many candidates have already crossed the age-limit. One of the aspirants said that with no progress yet, there is fear that the concerned department might be resorting to unfair means allegedly to fill the posts that have been from time to time referred to JKSSB.

In the process of recruitment, at first physical test is conducted and after which the written test will be taken then the next level will be held. But there have been several notifications of postponing the recruitment.

The aspirants informed that the process is being delayed since 2019 even as it was stated that the process will be taken up further from November onwards, but the same has been again delayed.

But as per reports, there had been some issues face by Forest Department to the posts that have been referred to the JKSSB for recruitment and that they have sought time for the verification of the said posts due to which the process has been delayed.
