Ministry of Home Affairs calls for deployment of All India Services (AIS) of outside officers to Jammu and Kashmir.

As per reports, Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat cadre have been deployed to J&K and more officers may be deployed shortly.

The Union Home Ministry has issued an order for deployment of two senior IPS officers from Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh cadre to Arunachal Pradesh Goa Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre and their further postings in J&K.

These names include Pramod Verma, IPS officers of 2001 batch of Madhya Pradesh cadre and Sarah Rizvi, IPS officer of 2008 batch of Gujarat cadre.

Once they are deployed to J&K through AGMUT cadre, their services will be placed at the disposal of Home department for further posting, posting order may be issued soon, as per Daily Excelsior.

Moreover, there is shortage of IAS officers and IPS officers in J&K as well as Ladakh due to various reasons.

It has come to fore that five more officers of All India Services can be posted in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, reportedly as there is acute shortage of officers in both the Union Territories.

After the Cadre Review was completed last year, J&K government wrote to the Central government for bifurcation of J&K and Ladakh cadres as both the Union Territories are part of AGMUT cadre and the step will clear strength of the officers of two UTs.
