Protest by farmers in Punjab has resulted in hundreds of passengers being stranded at Jammu railway station.

At least 64 trains were cancelled due to protests by sugarcane farmers in Jalandhar and Ludhiana blocking rail tracks and national highway.

The train services have remained hampered in Jammu since Friday and the passengers, who had to board the trains from Jammu railway station for different states, remained stranded here. 45 trains were cancelled on Friday and 19 were cancelled on Saturday in view of the continuous protest by the farmers.

A single train boards nearly 1000 passengers and with the cancellation of the train services, thousands of passengers were now stranded in Jammu.
