FMPH workers without salaries since five months in Jammu

Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) of Jammu are going through a very tough situation as they have not been paid salaries since last five months.

Nearly 1300 FMPHWs working in various health institutions have been denied salaries. FMPHWs working in various sub centres across Jammu province under 2211 head (Health & Family Welfare), a fully Centrally Sponsored Scheme but since the start of the scheme, these workers have not received their salaries regularly.

Jammu and Kashmir administration since so much time has failed to solve the issue of discrimination on grounds of salary for Female Multipurpose Health Workers working under 2211 head, whether FMPHWs are under 2211 or 2210 head, are UT government employees.

These health workers provide primary promotive and curative health care for almost all the national health programs through sub-centres but faces troubles in getting salary. As per Daily Excelsior, Female Multipurpose Health Workers working under 2210 are paid their salaries regularly.

President of Jammu Kashmir Female Multipurpose Health Workers’ Association Neelam Sharma said that they have been not paid salaries since past five months and facing a tough time due to this. She further added that it is injustice done to them.

Sharma further said that they are facing many problems due to non-release of their salaries and asked the government to find out a solution for this problem of delayed issuance of salaries.
