Guidelines regarding online exams of three year degree courses of Jammu University

University of Jammu has issued guidelines regarding conduct of online examination of three year degree courses.

The notification reads:

It is hereby notified for the information of all concerned candidates of the undergraduate course 6th-semester- B.A./ B.Sc./B.Com/B.B.A./B.C.A/B.Com (Honours) /B.A. Political Science (Honours) /B.A Psychology (Honours)/B.A Hindi (Honours) Three Year degree programme, as the case may be, that as per the UGC guidelines July 2021, the Terminal Semester/ Final Year Examinations (2020-2021) have to be compulsorily conducted in offline (pen & paper) online/blended (online + offline) mode following the prescribed protocols/ guidelines related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following procedure shall be adopted for the conduct of the above said Undergraduate 6th semester examinations proposed to be conducted during the 1st week of September 2021 The scheme of the examination:

That the examination shall be held in Online mode (MCQ based examination) as per following weightage:

  1. MCQ based examination = 60%
  2. Internal Assessment = 40%
    i. that each MCQ will carry 2 marks.
    ii. that if the internet connection of some candidates has dropped due to certain reasons in between the online mode of MCQ based examination a facility shall be provided to the candidates to connect and continue his/her online examination from where he/she left the question paper.
    iii. that if the internet connection/signal bandwidth problem arises at the place of the
    candidates, the College concerned shall help to facilitate them.
    iv. that mock exercise for the conduct of Online mode of MCQ based examination shall be conducted before the conduct of the main examinations of undergraduate 6th semester.
    v. that there shall be no negative marking.
    vi. that the students in 2nd and 4th semesters shall be promoted based on internal evaluation and previous semester as per 2020 guidelines.
    vii. that the above scheme of examination will apply to both the candidates of CBCS and Non-CBCS.
    viii. that there shall be no provision of re-evaluation in online MCQ-based examinations.
    ix. that the reliability of the Internet connection must be ensured by the candidates at their end.
