Hardcore criminal in RS Pura detained under PSA

A hardcore criminal has been detained under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in R.S.Pura-Miran Sahib area of Jammu District today on 03-06-2024, Police said on Monday.

The hardcore criminal identified as Kulbir Bhagat @ Rinku Kumar S/O Bhushan Lal R/O Langotian, Miran Sahib Tehsil R.S.Pura, District Jammu has been booked under Public Safety Act for his continuous involvement in criminal activities in an organised manner, thus posing a threat to public peace and order.

The accused did not mend his behavior in refraining his involvement in criminal activities inspite of being booked in multiple FIR’s that were registered by various Police Stations of Sub Division R.S.Pura and was recently involved in two heinous criminal cases in the area of PS Miran Sahib & PS RS Pura, police said.

The hardcore criminal was arrested by Police in number of cases, but the substantive law was not enough to tame him down, and he continued with his criminal activities, thereby posing a great threat to the public at large. He was involved in such activities which were likely to disturb public order & tranquility, particularly in R.S.Pura-Mran Sahib area of  Jammu District

Keeping in view the activities of aforesaid accused as these amount to propagating the criminal activities, thus accused was ordered to be detained under section-8 of Public Safety Act (PSA) by the orders of the District Magistrate Jammu. 

Action against notorious hardcore criminals is among the top priorities of Jammu & Kashmir Police which aims not only to take stringent action as per law of the land against notorious criminals but also preventive steps towards maintenance of peace and order.

The arrest was made by a team of Police Station Miran Sahib headed by SHO P/S Miran Sahib under the close supervision of SDPO R.S.Pura, SP Headquarters Jammu & overall supervision SSP Jammu.

The locals of the area have highly appreciated the efforts of the J&K Police in  taking tough stand and curbing criminal activities in the area, police added.
