Octroi Post on the International Border (IB) in Jammu’s Suchetgarh has become a major attraction point for tourists and to promote border tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. Border Security Force has been organizing retreat ceremonies near the zero line on weekends. This ceremony was held on Octorber 2.
But now Octroi BoP where the BSF troops performs a retreat ceremony in presence of hundreds of people.
A BSF Jammu Frontier spokesperson said that during the weekends half-hour ceremony is being held from 5:15 pm onwards along the International Border at Octroi BoP.
District Development Council (DDC) Suchetgarh member Taranjit Singh Tony welcomed and appreciated the ceremony but pointed out few shortcomings which needs to be improved. He said that sitting arrangement is less and infrastructure is poor and it should be developed to cater to the needs of the visitors.
