Residents of Jammu division will face acute water shortage as the daily wager employees of Jal Shakti (PHE department) are set to go on 72 hour strike from Thursday.
There are over 22000 daily wager employees in the Jal Shakti department in Jammu division who are demanding regularization and release of pending salaries for long time. Recently, the employees also held protest demonstration near the residence of Union Minister of State Dr Jatindra Singh where they were lathicharged.
The agitated worked have now decided to go on a strike to press for their demands which will leave residents of Jammu high and dry.
