After Punjab decided to open schools from August 2, Jammu and Kashmir government has also said that it can open educational institutions in a staggered manner.
Lt Governor Manoj Sinha directed the Health Department to prioritize vaccination of college and university students. “As the Covid situation in J&K has improved significantly, now we can work out a plan to open educational institutions in a staggered manner”, added the Lt Governor.
It is expected that schools, colleges and universities may be thrown open for offline studies soon in J&K. These institutions were closed after the second wave of Covid hit the UT.
