A massive landslide occurred in Ramban district triggered by heavy rains due to which the Jammu-Srinagar national highway was closed for traffic and left over thousands of trucks stranded.

Drivers alleged that it has been six days but concerned authorities have not visited them even once.

Due to increase in number of Jammu-bound vehicles and drivers in search of essential food items, drinking water, and toilet facilities have been entering the villages around the highway in Qazigund, Mir Bazar and other areas.

One of driver said that to live without water is getting difficult as they are stuck from past six days and have no basic facilities.

Another driver said that administration is not bothered at all to help them in this situation and it is the locals who have helped them. He further said that none of the officials came to them to ask them about availability of food and other basic needs. “People (villagers) opened the doors of the washrooms, toilets for us”, he said.
