Mobile teams for finding active cases of Tuberculosis in Leh flagged off

Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk along with Chief Engineer, Project Himank, Brig. Aravinder Singh flagged-off mobile teams for finding active cases of Tuberculosis in Leh district.

Every year District TB Office, Leh conducts Active Case Finding (ACF) for Tuberculosis, targeting vulnerable populations like tribal population, Jail inmates, tribal hostels and labours living in overfilled enclosures. 

This year, District TB Centre Leh is conducting a month-long ACF starting from 15th Feb 2021 to 16th March 2021 for identifying missing TB cases under the banner of “TB Harega, Desh Jeetega” campaign. To start with, DTC Leh has identified 3020 Labours engaged by BRO (Border Road Organisation) at 44 different locations across Leh District. 

Director Health along with DTO Leh and MS, SNM Hospital Leh stressed upon screenings of migrant labours engaged by the BRO for ACF and requested Chief Engineer, Himank to cooperate with the health department during the screenings and to provide requirements accordingly. 

Addressing the gathering, Dy Chairman Angchuk appreciated Health Department for carrying out the TB elimination programme across the district in a systematic way and hoped for a 100% coverage under the programme. 

Director Health Services Ladakh, Dr Phuntsog Angchuk, CMO Leh, Dr Motup Dorje, Medical Superintendent, SNM Hospital, Dr Nurzin Angmo, District Tuberculosis Officer, Dr Tashi Namgail, Medical Officer, DTO Leh, Dr Skarma Yontan and staffs of District Tuberculosis Office were also present on the occasion.
