Finally the wait is over for the multi-level car parking at the erstwhile State Motor Garages (SMG) in Srinagar as it is going to be open for public on Saturday and will be inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at 11:00 am, reportedly.
To an utter surprise, the work on the project was completed from quiet a long time but official inauguration to be thrown open for public of this project witnessed much delay.
The parking lot has been designed to cater to the rush of shoppers, employees and other people visiting city centre markets including Residency Road, Lambert Lane and offices. This car parking facility constructed by Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) will accommodate 467 four-wheelers and 132 two-wheelers at a time.
An official said that the need and importance of this project was felt and speed of work on this project was increased and work was also carried out during night shifts.
