Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested Owais Ahmad, the Municipal Committee Pahalgam President for demanding and accepting Rs 80,000 as bribe for the release of payments for supply of garbage vehicles.
The official spokesperson said that a complaint has been received by ACB alleging that Municipal Committee Pahalgam President has demanded Rs 80,000 as bribe for release of payments due to him for supply of garbage vehicles (Two Hopper Tipper Dumpers).
When the complaint was received a case under FIR Number 31/2021 under Section 7 PC Act 1988 was registered in this Bureau.
A successful trap was laid by the ACB team and caught Owais Ahmad red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe and later taken into custody.
