Preparations by J&K to host Amarnath Yatris complete amid security threat

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla today visited Nunwan base camp to take stock of the arrangements put in place for Shri Amartnath Ji Yatra (SAJY 2022).

On the occasion, the DC inspected the status of erection of tents, toilet facilities, langar facility, setting up of shops inside the base camp and sanitation measures inside the camp.

Dr Singla accompanied by the Camp Director examined the shift wise deployment of sanitation staff. He emphasized that round the clock cleanliness of the camp must be ensured. He was apprised that the toilets are up and running and water connections have been installed wherever necessary. RO dispensers have also been installed at the site.

Reviewing the installation of RFID scanners, the DC was informed that RFID cards have been issued to employees as well as Yatries and necessary infrastructure for RFID scanning and data sharing is in place.

Dr Singla laid stress on ensuring hygienic langar preparation and inspected the arrangements in this regard.

The DC during the visit was accompanied by SDM Pahalgam, ACP Anantnag and BDO Pahalgam among others.

Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary today visited National Highway (NH-44) in Awantipora and Pampore to take stock of way side facilities to ensure smooth conduct of Shri Amartnath Ji Yatra (SAJY-2022) commencing from June 30th.

The DC passed on spot instructions for providing basic facilities like medical aid centres, Critical care 108 ambulance services, ample stocks of petrol and diesel besides adequate parking and toilet facilities along the National Highway falling within the jurisdiction of Pulwama district.

On the occasion, DC directed Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora to ensure all facilities and amenities for commuters particularly Yatris are adequately available.

He directed CMO, Pulwama to equip PHC Awantipora with all facilities so that in case of any emergency no Yatri faces any inconvenience.

He also passed spot instructions to all concerned officers to remain alert and redress any issue pertaining to Yatra with promptness and agility.
