Properties of 2 LeT OGWs attached by NIA for forcible release of Pakistani terrorist

In its iron fist drive against terrorist organisations and their sympathisers in Kashmir, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday attached properties of two key Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operatives involved in the forcible release of Pakistani terrorist Naveed Jatt through a fatal attack on a police party in a Srinagar hospital in 2018.

A total of eight properties, 5 belonging to the accused Mohammad Shafi Wani and 3 belonging to Mohammad Tikka Khan, both residents of Singoo Narbal, Pulwama, have been attached under Section 33(1) of UA(P) Act 1967, in pursuance of the recent orders of NIA Special Court, Jammu, said the NIA.

The case involved the killing of two J&K Police personnel during firing on a police party escorting LeT terrorist Naveed Jatt @ Abu Hanzla to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for medical examination of 6 February 2018. Jatt, a terrorist of Pakistan origin, was forcibly got released in the attack which was carried out by the two accused, along with others on orders from their Pakistan based LeT commander. Jatt got killed in an encounter with the security forces later in 2018.

The attached immovable properties of Mohammad Shafi Wani and Tikka Khan, both identified as OGWs of LeT, include various plots of land. Residential house of Shafi has also been attached, said NIA.
