Traffic resumes on Srinagar-Leh highway after maintenance work

Traffic has resumed on the Srinagar-Leh national highway that connects Kashmir division with UT of Ladakh on Saturday.

No vehicle was allowed from either side on Srinagar-Leh national highway on Friday to allow Beacon authorities to undertake weekly repair on the road, particularly at Zojila pass.

A traffic police official said that both way traffic was allowed on the highway on Saturday. Traffic from Kargil in Ladakh will be allowed in the morning from 6 am till 11 am, those from Sonamarg in the central Kashmir to Ladakh will ply later.

Both the UTs have agreed that traffic will remain suspended on the highway every Friday for maintenance work.
