Vice Chancellor of Jammu University instruct teachers to focus on quality research

After facing embarrassment when the University of Jammu slipped out of the top 100 best institutions in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking for year 2023, Vice Chancellor Prof Umesh Rai today asked the teachers of the varsity to focus on quality research.

The varsity authorities were left red faced when the Jammu University ranking slipped out of the top 100 best institutions from 93 last year. On the other hand improving its performance, the Kashmir University ranked 58 in best institutions category from 84 last year.

This overall list of the top hundred institutes include universities, colleges, medical, law, research, engineering, management, pharmacy, dental, architecture and planning, agricultural and allied sectors, and innovation colleges and institutions of the country.

However in the list of top 100 universities the University of Kashmir ranked 33 while University of Jammu ranked 63.

These parameters on which the institutions including universities are ranked include different criteria including research.

In a meeting of officers and teachers of the Jammu University today, the Vice Chancellor underlined the depleting standards of research in the institutions. He strictly instructed the teachers to focus on new and quality research.
