Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo, today attended the Induction Ceremony of first year batch at Government Medical College, Kathua.
The ceremony was among others attended by the first year MBBS students along with their parents from different regions of Jammu and Kashmir, witnessing Apron wearing, stethoscope adoring besides the oath ceremony of first year MBBS students of the college.
Speaking on the occasion, Financial Commissioner highlighted the improvement in health care sector with opening of New Medical Colleges at district headquarters. He said the efforts are being made to further strengthen the healthcare infrastructure besides human resource in health institutions at all levels. He said the number of specialized doctors in GMC Kathua has been considerably increased in two years.
Atal Dullo informed that the GMC Kathua will soon start classes for BSC Paramedical course for which admission and counseling process has been started. He said with the completion of GMC building and related infrastructure, BSC nursing course classes will be started which will further strengthen the skilled human resource in both government and private health institutions of the Union territory.
Meanwhile, Financial Commissioner also inspected different departments of GMC Kathua and took stock of progress on the infrastructure besides reviewing functioning of different wings.
